As the Director of Land Stewardship at Indian Creek Nature Center, author Jean Wiedenheft works to create natural, healthy habitats in which wildlife thrive and in which visitors can explore. She has a BS in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University. Jean was the project manager for Amazing Space, a project recognized by the International Living Future Institute for its leading edge sustainable design. She is also currently working as the interim Farm Manager for the organic Etzel Sugar Grove Farm. Jean lives outside of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with her black Labrador, Nitro (2008-2022), a handful of cats and a small flock of guineas and chickens. In 2021 she served on the City of Cedar Rapids Advisory Committee for the Community Climate Action Plan.
